DVD Patrol: Veronica Mars, Legend Of Hercules And Godzilla

Firing on all cylinders, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol has been busy pounding the pavement and we mean the shoe leather too. The Toddster has been really busy catching up on a lot of movies for the theater, which means in a couple of weeks we will have some that were really good and some not so much. We didn't forget about that we're best at. Here it is!

New on DVD

Veronica Mars (2014)- It's never easy leaving the thing you're good at. Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) spent most of her high school life playing private eye. She was really good but all good things must come to an end. Now coming back full circle, Veronica returns home to attend her 10 year high school reunion.A lot of people rememeber her and some of them not so fondly. After she comes back, she finds out that an old friend has been accused of murder. Now she'll have to shake off the rust of her old detective skills if she has any hope of clearing him. Can Veronica solve the case? Seasons 1-3 are now available in stores now of the original series and Bell can be seen with Don Cheadle on "House of Lies" in reruns on Showtime and there is talk of a new series with Bell attached.

Son of Batman- Being a super hero is never an easy job. Just ask Batman. Batman has a lot of enemies and there come none worse that Ra's Al Ghaul. Batman and Ra's have had their fair share of fights over the years but Ra's daughter Talia has had her heart torn between her love for the Dark knight and her allegiance to her Father. All of that is about to change.Talia returns to Gotham City to inform Bruce Wayne that he has a son and he's in danger. The League of Shadows wants to kill his son Damian to gain the leadership of the League. The only one that can protect him is Batman. Damian has a certain way he does things and Batman might have his work cut out for him protecting his newfound son and dealing with his atitude. Is Batman up to the task? Coming to DVD in the Fall is "Batman: Assault on Arkham" with an all new case for the Caped Crusader.

The Legend of Hercules- The Journey of a Hero is never an easy one. Hercules (Kellan Lutz) was destined to be the next ruler of the Kingdom. His stepfather, the king (Scott Adkins), has other ideas. He sells Hercules into slavery so he can get his hands on the throne. What no one knows is Hercules is also the son of Zeus. Zeus has been watching Hercules but he isn't sure he is deserving of the powers that are his birthright. He goes on a series of labors to make sure that he is and having the heart of a hero is something he has. Can Hercules win back his kingdom and even find love in the process? Dwayne Johnson put his own spin on being the Son of Zeus in "Hercules" hitting theaters in August.

Labor Day- Everyone loves a good love story. Henry (Gaitlin Griffith) knew his Mom Adele (Kate Winslet) has been lonely and depressed for a long time. That may all change when they meet Frank (Josh Brolin). Frank has been on the run from the Police and find his way into Adele's car. He asks them for a ride and but means them no harm. After they get home, Adele and Henry spend some time with Frank and learn that he's not gulity of the crimes he's accused of. As t√he Police look for him, Adele and Frank grow closer. What will happen for the couple next? Brolin has a number of projects in the works including a sequel to "Sin City" coming to theaters in the summer.
