NORWICH – Each year, the Chenango United Way generates funding for multiple nonprofit and charitable organizations to assist with the overall well-being and health of Chenango County residents. The money that is distributed to those who request funding from the United Way – known as “Community Partners” – reaches an array of individuals covering a broad range of the socioeconomic gamut.

Transparency is one of the cornerstones that keeps the Chenango United Way a trustworthy and accountable entity within the community. Every year in mid March, the organization discloses all of its community partner allocations to the public to maintain credibility. The report serves as a means to validate their efforts to donors and funding sources.

Chenango United Way Executive Director Elizabeth Monaco said, “When we award the money, we give every agency a chance to review their application with us, which gives us the opportunity to explain why and how they are scored on their funding application.”
