DVD Patrol: Homefront, Out Of The Furnace, Hours

What is the good word, Patrollers?! The DVD Patrol has been trying to keep ahead of the Curve and we just got out of Oscar Season. Even though the Toddster isn't crazy about them, that doesn't mean he doesn't watch them. Also, coming up in April also means that Summer Movie Season will be kicking off a little bit early. Here we go!

Homefront- When you're trying to get away from something, It sometimes has a way of catching up with you. DEA Agent Phil Broker (Jason Statham) wanted to get away from the life he has had trying to take down the bad guys and settle down with his family after some tragic events happen. With his wife gone, he has to raise his Daughter Maddy (Izabela Vidovic) by himself. They move South where they think things will be all right. Phil couldn't be more wrong. After Maddy stands up to a bully, the boy's Mother goes to see "Gator" Bodine (James Franco) who asks him to to put a scare into Maddy and her Dad. The only problem is Phil doesn't scare that easy. Also, Gator also happens to be the local drog kingpin and he has to set an example. Can Phil find a way to stop him and keep his daughter safe? Statham has a number of projects in the works including a comedy with Melissa Mccarthy called "Susan Cooper," "Fast and Furious 7," "The Expendables 3," and a sequel to "The Mechanic."

Out of the Furnace- There is nothing like family and when someone threatens that, you can be sure that someone will respond in kind. Rodney Baze (Casey Affleck) was looking to score a little quick cash so he decided to try and enter an underground fighting ring set up by Harlan Degroat (Woody Harrelson). Harlan wants Rodney to throw a fight but he does what he wants and something happens to him. Harlan's brother, Russell (Chrtistian Bale), knows something is wrong and goes looking for Rodney. Russell may be looking for more trouble than be bargained for but he's determined to find out what happened to his brother. What did happen to Rodney and will Russell get out this one in one piece? Harrelson also has a few irons in the fire including "The Hunger Games-Mockingjay-Part 1" with Jennifer Lawrence and a sequel to "Now You See Me" now in development.

Hours- Becoming a new Father is a once in a lifetime experience. When your child's life is on the line, there is nothing you won't do to save them. Everyone who lived through Hurricane Katrina certainly had a hard time and that happens to Nolan Hayes (Paul Walker). When an accident happens to his family, his infant daughter's lfe is on the line and he will do whatever he can to keep her alive. Can he find a way to do it? As a lot of people already know, Walker was killed in a tragic accident and at the time of his passing, he was working on "Fast and Furious 7" with Vin Diesel. It was just announced that the movie will be completed with all of Walker's scenes and will be released in April 2015. Walker had also completed another movie called "Brick Mansions" and is coming soon to theaters on April 25,2014.

Oldboy- Action Spotlight has a new one with Josh Brolin. Brolin plays Joe Douchett. Based on the comic book, Joe was kidnapped as a child and his kidnappers kept him captive in confinment for almost 20 years. He never knew why they kept him. He get away from them and he has become a man with a mission and now he has to find the ones responsible that stole his life away from him. What will he do next? Another DVD just released is called "The Grandmaster" and this one has the story of the man who taught Bruce Lee everything he knows. This one is in stores now.

A lot of action for this week. On the way, the Toddster will have some picks set up for Summer already. As we said before, Movies will starting early for the Summer. Don't forget either that "Frozen" is on the way too. The Toddster is out of here.
