Man charged following fatal crash

GREENE – A Greene man faces charges of vehicular manslaughter following the investigation into a fatal one-car accident that occurred early Friday morning.

According the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Bradley Goodrich was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier along Hogsback Road, near County Road 32 in the Town of Greene, when he veered into a utility pole. Authorities, assisted by the Brisben Fire Department and Greene ambulance, responded to the 911 call shortly after 2 a.m. Goodrich was airlifted to UHS Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City for treatment of internal injuries.

The pasanger, Brandon Archer, 23, Green, suffered traumatic internal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Upon investigation, Sheriffs determined that Goodrich was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in the second degree, a class D felony, and manslaughter in the second degree, a class C felony.

Goodrich will be arraigned upon his release from UHS Wilson Memorial. The Sheriff’s Office says further charges may be pending.

Cortland County Republican Committee endorses Hanna

McGRAW – The Cortland County Republican Committee endorsed Congressman Richard Hanna in his re-election bid for the U.S. House of Representatives, Chairman John Folmer announced Friday.

The Committee made its endorsement Friday night at the McGraw Town Hall. The 22nd Congressional District includes all of Cortland County as well as Chenango, Oneida and Madison counties. It also includes part of Broome, Herkimer, Oswego and Tioga counties.

"Cortland County is very proud of Richard Hanna and the job he is doing in Congress," Chairman Folmer said. "He has been a strong voice for Upstate New York and a reliable representative for Cortland County. He is a proven leader and we look forward to him continuing to serve."

“I am honored to once again have the support of the Cortland County Republican Committee,” Congressman Hanna said. “I look forward to continuing to work to bring prosperity and a bright future back to Upstate New York. It is a privilege to have this endorsement."
