WINDSOR – Norwich finished unbeaten in regular season and STAC division play for the first time since the 1992-1993 season extending its perfect mark to 16-0 Thursday night at Windsor.

Ahead by just three points at the break, Norwich kicked in the afterburners and left the Black Knights far behind.

“We had some shots rim in and out in the first half, and we just played really flat,” said Norwich coach Tom Collier.

With so many offensive weapons at his disposal, Collier knew it was just a matter of time before one of his players caught fire. As the second half played out, several players elevated their offensive games.

Michael Oralls scored eight points in the third quarter, Zan Stewart pumped in a pair of threes, and Mike Sutton scored five in a 24-point quarter that exceeded the Tornado’s entire first-half output.

Reserve guard Chris Trevisani padded the advantage with seven points in the fourth quarter and all nine of his markers in the second half. “We came out with intensity in the second half and played with a purpose,” Collier said. “Everyone played well in the third quarter.”

Oralls led three Norwich players in double figures scoring with 15 points, Stewart added 14, and Sutton had 12.

Collier said Norwich will play Elmira or Union-Endicott Wednesday in the STAC semifinals, and summed up his team’s season so far: “Sixteen and oh doesn’t happen that often.”
