Now in Theaters

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit - It's always funny how people find their way into fighting for our country. Jack Ryan (Chris Pine) was going to school in England until he saw a news report of the events that happened on 9/11/11. He felt he had to do something so he decided to join the Military. He did his job and was good at it until a Helicopter crash ended it for him. During his Rehabilitation, he meets a pretty Doctor named Catherine (Keira Knightley) who likes him but doesn't want to admit it. Jack is approached by a Navy man named Thomas Harper (Kevin Costner) who thinks Jack might have what it takes to join the CIA. Harper tells him he would be working for the CIA as a financial analyst spotting accounts used by terrorist organizations against the United States. A few years go by and Jack spots some accounts being used by a firm headed by Viktor Cheverin (Kenneth Branaugh). Jack is made operational when he first gets to Russia and operatives try and kill him. They find out that he's not that easy to kill. Things become even more complicated when Cathy shows up for a vacation. Can Jack figure out what going on before Cheverin unveils his Master plan to strike at the US?

The Toddster's Take: Our First Review of 2014! I really enjoyed this movie. It was a little slow in some spots but it was a great story. If you're a Tom Clancy fan, this one was extremely enjoyable. Pine and Costner do very well delivering scenes together and Knightley was cute in her performance. Costner has two more movies coming up with "3 Days to Kill" in theaters Feburary 21 and a comedy called "Draft Day" in April.

We all know that Awards Season is upon us. Never really liked them. Ever notice that they always put the ones up for awards at the end of the year. Doesn't really seem fair. It's just my opinion, I could be wrong (To quote the great Dennis Miller). The Toddster shall return.
