Trick or Treat, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol has some new movies that are a bit scary with a new animated one from the Caped Crusader. We've got a teamup coming that's just around the corner. Got a few scares for you.

New on DVD

Monsters University – Seeing how friends get together is always interesting. In this prequel. Mike (Billy Crystal) and Sully (John Goodman) have been the best at being Monster and best friends. They didn't actually start out that way. Sully likes to party a bit and Mike wants to be the nest monster he can be but he's not really that scary. Sully isn't sure what to make of this little guy but he decides to help him. Will they find a way to become friends in the end? My sources tell me that another sequel is on the way. Also, a fun movie coming out to theaters today is "Free Birds" where some time traveling turkeys try to get Turkey removed as the meat of choice for Thanksgiving.

R.I.P.D – We all have to find ways to do our jobs. Possibly even if we're dead. Based on the best selling Graphic Novel, Nick (Ryan Reynolds) was a cop and was really good at his job. Too bad while on the job, Nick is killed and doesn't go straight to heaven. He's recruited by a special branch of called R.I.P.D or the Rest in Peace Department. Nick's not sure if he wants to do this but he's partnered with Roy (Jeff Bridges) who has his own style of being a cop. With a threat to the heavens coming, Nick wants to find the one who killed him. Can the two get along and stop whatever is coming? Bridges can be seen in a new thriller called "The Seventh Son" in theaters in January 2014.

Also on DVD

Batman:The Dark Knight Returns – Cartoon Spotlight is here one more time. Sometimes, Heroes have to return to make a difference. Bruce Wayne used to strike fear into the heart of criminals fighting crime as the Batman. There had to come a time to retire and Bruce has been gone from the streets for the last 10 years. Now the streets of Gotham City have gotten worse than ever. A more vicious type of criminal has made themselves known. Bruce decides he has to put the cape back on one more time to make a difference. Not everyone is happy to see him back as Batman and being 55 years old isn't a cakewalk either. Will Bruce be alr to help or will he be taken out? Batman will be back with the Justice League in "Justice League: War" coming to DVD in 2014.

Now in Theaters

Carrie – It's always a good idea to be nice to people because if you don't, you might be the one who isn't treated so nice. Carrie White (Chloe Grace-Moretz) was a shy and reclusive girl who just wanted to be treated like all the other girls. That's not always true when some girls in her Gym class make fun of her and humiliate her in public. A couple of the girls feel bad after the incident and aren't sure what to do about what happened to Carrie. Carrie's home life isn't so good either because her mother (Julianne Moore) isn't sure if Carrie was a blessing or a curse. Carrie's life is about to change. She soon discovers that she has the power of Telekinesis where she can move things around with her mind. The girls from the class who felt bad decide that they will set Carrie with a date for the prom. Not everyone likes that idea and think this might a good way to really get at Carrie. What will happen next and will Carrie be able to control her new power?

The Toddster's Take- This is the ultimate anti-bullying movie. If you don't treat someone in a good way, it may come back on you. That really happens in a big way. It's a bit predictable in spots and very close to the first movie that starred Sissy Spacek. Moretz was very good with the rest of the cast of newcomers and Moore was quite good as the loving although stern Mother. Catch it if you dare!

That's it for this week. Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween. Don't forget to visit the Colonia Theatre on Nov 6 for the Benefit for the Colonia where "Raiders of the Lost Ark" will be screened. Tickets are now on sale at the box office. The Toddster plans on being there.
