GREENE – Although it came in a loss, Greene coach Sue Carlin saw her team begin to jell Thursday in the final game before postseason play.

"I was happy with our passing game and we were trusting each other," Carlin said after Thursday’s game against Maine-Endwell. "Katherine Klecha controlled the middle of the field and probably had her best game this season."

After 60 minutes of scoreless play in regulation time, Maine-Endwell scored the game's lone goal with 6:35 left in overtime. Jillian Greene picked up the ball on a turnover, and drove the ball into the circle before taking the winning shot.

"We feel bad about the turnover, but we'd rather have it today than next week in sectionals," Carlin said.

Greene (7-7) plays at Sidney Wednesday afternoon in the first round of Class C sectional play.
