Boys’ Soccer

Norwich 3, Oxford 2

NORWICH – Norwich scored back-to-back goals in the second half less than three minutes apart to snap a 1-1 tie with Oxford in Tuesday’s victory over the Blackhawks.

Freshman Gird Ceno scored his second goal of the game converting on a sharp angle from the left side into the far inside right of the net. Moments later, senior Curtis Woodard blasted a long-range shot just inside the left post for the two-goal cushion.

Oxford sliced the deficit in half getting a breakaway goal from sophomore Josh Hull. Later in the game, Oxford nearly tied the contest when a point-blank shot to an open net hit the upper crossbar. “It was amazing for the kids to get that first win,” said Norwich coach Scottie Decker. “The team is coming together and getting a little better every day.”
