Greene 11, Oxford 0

GREENE – Four Greene players scored at least two goals in a rout of Oxford Tuesday.

It was the first varsity game for the Blackhawks in two years, and Greene coach Rick Tallman was not happy with how far the score got out of hand. I was happy, though, with the great combination passing of midfielders Karl Zaengle and Kurt Bartholomew. The veteran duo combined for five goals and six assists. Luke Day and Kevin Halsteter also had two tallies in the game.

“It was very fluid play between Kurt and Karl, and Cameron (Race) was very solid today on the defensive end,” Tallman said.
