OXFORD – State police have released the name of the second driver from a two car crash which claimed the lives of both vehicles’ operators, early Sunday morning.

Investigators believe Brandy L. Smith, 15, of Bainbridge, was driving a 2000 Ford Focus eastbound on County Route 35 in the Town of Oxford shortly before 1:42 a.m. when she drifted slightly onto the shoulder and overcorrected bringing the vehicle across the center line and into the path of oncoming traffic. The vehicle subsequently collided with a westbound 2002 Dodge Caravan operated by David C. Clark, 48, of Oxford. Smith was declared deceased on the scene and Clark later succumbed to injuries sustained from the accident. Six passengers from the minivan and one from the car were transported to local hospitals to be treated for various injuries.
