AFTON – Colin Nabinger pitched four innings, struck out four, and gave up just two hits in a victory over Unatego II last week in Otsenango Pony League play.

Conor Graven-Briggs led the Afton batsmen with two hits – one a triple – three RBI and two runs scored. Tyler King added two hits and two RBI, and Keith Ives went 2-for-2 with three runs scored.

Thursday, Afton topped Oxford in a pitching duel. Joe DeVona and Nabinger combined to pitch a two-hitter with DeVona allowing two hits in four innings for the win.

Mike Graven-Briggs was the lone Afton player with two hits, and he stole four bases.

Garett Sylstra had a run scored for Oxford.

Unatego 11, Sherburne 10

Unatego I scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally past Sherburne in OPL action last week.

Hunter Owen led the Sherburne hitters with a perfect 4-for-4 day. He had four runs scored and stole six bases in the loss.

Oneonta Hurricanes 11, Delhi 1

Oneonta pitchers Devon Sobers, Keaton Mark, and Brandon Corna combined for 15 whiffs and allowed just three Delhi hits in a rout last Thursday in OPL action.

Sobers homered in the victory and Bennett Eggler was a perfect 2-for-2. Oneonta took advantage of 10 Delhi base on balls to generate offense in nearly every inning.
