NORWICH – Owego used three big innings to pull away for the victory over Norwich Monday night.
The Indians scored four in their opening at-bat, added four more in the fifth, and tacked on five in the sixth to create a 13-run bulge.
The Indians’ C.J. Bergmann was 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, and teammate Michael Yanchus added three hits and two RBI. “They were finding holes all over the place,” said Norwich coach Rich Turnbull of Owego’s 17 hits. “It wasn’t as if they were hitting bombs. They were just seeing-eye singles.”
