G-MU 7, Morris 6

COPES CORNERS – G-MU scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to avenge an 18-0 loss to Morris from earlier this season.

Jason Barrows was hit by a pitch to start the seventh, and stole second to put himself in scoring position. Tim French followed with a hard single into the gap plating Barrows with the winner.

Barrows struck out 12 and scattered seven hits in G-MU’s fourth win this season. “We’ve been in close games and we know what we are capable of. That last game (against Morris) was not us,” said G-MU coach Rick Mohrein. “We’ve set a goal to get back to .500 and make the playoffs, so we needed to have this game.”
