NORWICH - Unbeaten Norwich set up a showdown with fellow unbeaten Oneonta today for first place in the STAC East division after blanking Susquehanna Valley Wednesday.

Norwich preserved the shutout with first singles player Alexander Stewart winning in three sets over Andrew Emmons, 5-7, 6-2, 10-5, while NHS’s second doubles team of Brendon Budd and Cameron Edwards outlasted SV’s Lincoln Boyle and Joshua Kinney, 6-2, 2-6, 10-6.

Doubles: Grant Brightman-Danny Carson (N) d. Nicholas Terry-Elijah Nichols, 6-1, 6-4; Brendon Budd-Cameron Edwards (N) d. Lincoln Boyle-Joshua Kinney, 6-2, 2-6, 10-6; Paul Archer-Andrew Evans (N) d. Tyler Lyke-Adam Terboss, 6-3, 6-2.

Greene 4, Sidney 1

SIDNEY – Greene dealt Sidney its first Midstate Athletic Conference loss since the 2010 season taking all but the first singles match Wednesday.

Greene’s Kevin Koerts won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Brady Race captured the third singles match for the Trojans taking a 6-2, 6-0 win.
