OXFORD – Residents of the New York State Veterans’ Home in Oxford will host their second annual “Our Colors” art exhibition opening 2 p.m. Friday at the vets’ home.

“It’s exciting,” said NYS Veteran’s Home Activities Director and music therapist Heeyoun Cho. “We are talking about our residents who just continue to keep growing and trying different things.”

The residents’ artwork is often put display not only at the veterans’ home, but also in exhibitions which travel across that state and they are proud of their accomplishments.

“The residents love this; it is a way for them to express themselves,” said Linda Grabowski, who is in charge of the art class. “It brings the best out of them. The creativity is what is important to them, and it’s not about what their disabilities are, it’s about what their abilities are.”
