DVD Patrol

Hello All you Happy Patrollers! The DVD Patrol will be saying goodbye to one very important patroller who 7 1/2 years ago was responsible for giving birth to this very column, but more on that later. The Toddster is here though doing what he does best. Just a few movies to let you in on.

New on DVD

Rise of the Guardians - There are classic characters that everyone knows from when we were kids – like the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and Santa Claus just to name a few. They all love children. Now they want to induct a new member named Jack Frost. He’s not sure if he wants to do this. Jack will have to make up his mind fast. There is a dark spirit named Pitch who’s going after the children. If he succeeds with his plans, the dreams of kids all around the World will become dark and there won’t be any light left. Can Jack and the rest of the Guardians come up with a way to keep everyone safe? The Toddster will be heading to the Colonia Theatre to catch “The Croods” this weekend. Looks like a good one for the kids.

Playing for Keeps - Getting a second chance to discover something important is something not everyone gets. George Dyer (Gerard Butler) was one of the world’s biggest soccer stars but made a choice to retire. He comes back home to try and reconnect with his son. George also runs into his ex-wife Stacie (Jessica Biel) who is wondering just George’s true motives really are. She soon finds out that George really wants to do what he says. His son talks George into coaching his soccer team. Also, the mothers of the team try to date George. Will George find a way to help his son and maybe even get back his lost love? Butler will be seen in a new movie with Morgan Freeman trying to save the President in “Olympus Has Fallen” coming soon to theaters.
