NORWICH – The volunteers at Chenango County Habitat for Humanity are cooking up a few big ideas to draw in hungry crowds when they host the second annual Souper Bowl, set to take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Norwich Family YMCA.

In hopes of continuing the success of last year’s inaugural Souper Bowl fundraising event, organizers will be soliciting different types of soups from 27 restaurants that hail from Greene, Afton, Bainbridge, New Berlin, Coventry and Norwich. People of all ages are invited to enjoy an afternoon of soup sampling - with accompanying bread, soft drinks and one dessert - all for the cause of raising money for Habitat’s next building project, expected to be announced in the coming months.

Admission to the event is $5 for advanced tickets, $6 at the door, or $20 per family of four. Children under the age of five get in for free.
