Americana-Folk trio, The Stray Birds come to 6OTS Friday

OXFORD – This Friday, Feb, 15, at 7:30 p.m., 6 On The Square (6OTS) is proud to present the super-talented, The Stray Birds. Drawing upon the richness of American folk music traditions, the signature power of The Stray Birds sound lies in outstanding songwriting that soars in three-part harmony.

Maya de Vitry and Oliver Craven were raised on music within a few miles of each other in Lancaster, Pennsylvania farmland, but they left to explore other musical avenues. Maya spent time traveling through Europe as a fiddling street performer. Oliver spent two years as a harmony vocalist, fiddler, and guitarist for the Grammy-nominated Americana artist Adrienne Young. These two unique writers and vocalists had miles of music under their belts so when they returned home, and shared their first song together, their collaboration was inevitable. Maya’s pure, luxurious voice and Oliver’s rich tone and deep delivery were grounded with the unshakeable groove of bassist Charles Muench. The Stray Birds were born from talent, experience, and captivating chemistry. It is no surprise that they are getting noticed.
