Unatego and UV meet in MAC girls final

For the first time in five seasons, a team other than Harpursville will reign as MAC girls’ basketball champion.

Unatego and Unadilla Valley vie for their first MAC crown Saturday at 2 p.m. at Oneonta’s Field House gymnasium.

The Storm have not appeared in a league title game in 10 years when it fell to Bainbridge-Guilford, while Unatego dropped three straight MAC title games in subsequent years.

UV hasn’t tasted defeat since its second game of the year, and has rattled off 13 straight wins including a come-from-behind win at Unatego, 55-52, earlier this month. Bainbridge-Guilford coach Bob Conway recently lost to UV in a MAC playoff game last week, and is also well acquainted with Unatego.
