Nowich 106, Chenango Forks 74

NORWICH –Norwich coach Kevin Diefenbacher put Friday’s lineup against Chenango Forks in the capable hands of captains Greg Todd and Joe Stagliano, and the Tornado swam to decisive victory to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Norwich won every event but the diving competition, and had five personal-best swims. “This was a captains’ meet, and I had Greg and Joe arrange the lineup with the stipulation that they put together some competitive relays,” Diefenbacher said. “The result was the same as if I had arranged the lineup.”

Todd and Stagliano had big roles in the Norwich win with multiple wins. Also cashing in with firsts in individual events were Curtis Woodard, Grant Horton, and Killian Benedict. Todd, Woodard, and Stagliano finished the day with four overall wins. “We had a diversified lineup, and it really was one of our best outings,” Diefenbacher said.
