Cyclones’ C team advances to Empire Classic finals

CAMDEN – The Norwich Cyclones C team improved to 11-0, and advanced to the Empire State Classic Pop Warner football finals blanking the Southside Cyclones of Rochester, 13-0, on Sunday.

Rochester enjoyed continual field position in the first half. The always-stiff Cyclones defense held the swift Rochester unit out until of the endzone repeatedly in the first half with the game remaining a scoreless tie.

The Cyclones began the second half with Noah Bufalini recovering the onside kick at the Rochester 48. The Cyclones mounted a hard-nosed, straight-ahead four-minute drive culminating in a five-yard JT Vinal touchdown run. Carson Maynard passed to Elijah Rodriguez for the point after touchdown.
