GREENE – More is definitely better as far as Greene coach Sue Carlin is concerned.

In winning six straight Section IV titles from 2006-2011, the Trojans needed to win just one game. Now in the Class C ranks, the Trojans are coming off their second sectional playoff win in less than week, and look for a lucky seventh sectional championshp this weekend after beating Whitney Point Wednesday.

It was the fourth win for Greene over the Golden Eagles this season to improve its record to 15-0. Carlin said her team is in much more of a playoff groove in preparation for another championship run. “It’s been great this year,” Carlin said. “When we were in As, we would have to wait two or three weeks before we played. There’s nothing like the real thing (instead of scrimmages) where we know that at any time, we go home and don’t play on. Whitney Point is a great team, and we had to fight hard.”

Whitney Point is an above average club with six losses this season, two-thirds of which came to the Trojans. Still, Greene made the difficult look easy scoring its first three goals in a four-minute span. Sophomore Tiffany Borst began her hat trick scoring off an Emily Conroe pass at 23:39. Two minutes and 16 minutes later, the advantage reached two goals.
