Harlem Rockets make a play for Oxford Friday night

OXFORD ­– The Oxford Academy high school gym will bare witness to astounding feats of athleticism at 7 p.m. Friday. The Harlem Rockets will once again be visiting Chenango County to thrill and entertain viewers of all ages, with their jaw-dropping display of basketball tricks and sidesplitting family-friendly comedy for a fundraiser expected to pack the house.



According to a press release, the Rockets have played over 2,500 games in the team’s 16 years and have never suffered from a single defeat. The Rockets boast an impressive roster featuring many renowned team members such as former Harlem Globetrotter Clarence “Mugsy” Leggett, Nike commercial star Cliff “Jet Blue” Malone, and James “Speedy” Williams, whose long list of accolades also includes Nike commercial work as well as performances in the MTV Awards and “Above the Rim,” along side Tupac Shakur and Duane Martin.
