Chenango Forks 5, Norwich 0
NORWICH – Playing its 10th game in the last 2 1/2 weeks, Norwich took the field Wednesday on tired legs, and Chenango Forks capitalized early on building a 3-0 halftime lead.
Tanner Giordano scored at the eight- and 21-minute marks lifting the Blue Devils to a two-goal lead. “We were a little tired and on rubbery legs,” said Norwich coach Steve Prime. “We had a couple little letdowns or lost a man on defense, and they were able to score.”
Norwich plays at Chenango Valley on Friday. Earlier this season, the Tornado beat CV for their first STAC league win in five seasons.

Bainbridge-Guilford 3, Afton 2
AFTON - It was a case of role reversal for Bainbridge-Guilford Wednesday afternoon at Afton. Two days after giving up a two-goal lead to Greene and ultimately losing in overtime, the Bobcats rallied from two goals down to beat the Crimson Knights.
Every goal was scored on one end of the field, and Afton raced to a two-goal edge getting tallies from Jesse Dedman and Josh Davy in the game’s first 10 minutes.
Over the second 40 minutes of play, B-G maintained most of the play in its offensive end. Adam Bauerle broke up the shutout, then added the winning goal with 7:50 to play. A few minutes earlier, Brent Fuller tied the game for B-G. “I think the difference was that B-G had a deeper bench. They were able to rest their key guys and not miss a beat,” said Afton coach Todd Dancesia. “We have a lot of young kids, and we’re still learning how to play close games.”
