NORWICH Five individuals charged with a variety of felony and misdemeanor crimes appeared in court Monday, one of whom was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility after admitting he would test positive for an illegal substance if tested by the court.
Beau W. Cerniglia, 26, of Tennessee, was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $25,000 cash bail after he admitted to Judge W. Howard Sullivan he would test positive for marijuana if tested for illegal substances.
In March, Cerniglia was indicted on two counts of first degree reckless endangerment, a class D felony, as well as two counts of second degree reckless endangerment, an A misdemeanor.
Its alleged that Cerniglia, on or about Jan. 23, 2012, engaged in conduct which created a grave risk of death and a substantial risk of injury to another, travelling at an imprudent rate of speed and passing through a pair of stop signs, at the intersection of Birdsall and Clinton streets, and Silver and Mitchell streets, in the City of Norwich.
