NORWICH – Local farmers, agriculturalists, and dairy lovers are excited to kick-off the 12th annual Dairy Day celebration, set to take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The day begins with the Dairy Day 5K Milk Run at 9 a.m. at the race track gate on East Main Street, followed by the Dairy Day Parade, which steps-off from the Tops parking lot and makes its way down East Main Street at 10:30 a.m.

Chenango County Habitat for Humanity will sponsor a skillet toss at the fairgrounds beginning at 11:30 and – new this year – the first Dairy Day Duck Derby will send hundreds of plastic ducks floating down the Chenango River at noon.

Also, there will be plenty of other fun, family-friendly activities at the Chenango County fairgrounds throughout the day. Attractions include: the annual Dairy Day stock tank race; coloring contests; a farm animal petting zoo; a visit from the Zoomobile from the Binghamton Ross Park Zoo; the kiddie tractor pull; and plenty of other fun, exciting and educational agricultural exhibits all afternoon.
