Donna Frech Studio presents ‘The Dash’ recital

NORWICH – The Donna Frech School of Dance will put on its annual recital this weekend at the Norwich High School.

There will be evening performances at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and matinees at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in the auditorium.

The recital is called “The Dash” and is a reference to a poem in which the author believes birth and death do not matter. Instead, it is the dash between those two moments and everything that we as human beings do in between that is important.

“It’s about the impact we make on other’s lives and the world,” said Frech, who has operated the studio in Norwch, Sidney and New Berlin for 37 years. “Whatever happens is up to you and you can make a difference.”

Each of the dances are based upon the lives of historic figures that made an especially large impact during their lives.

For example, a performance revolving around the life of Abraham Lincoln is denoted by 1817-1865 – note the dash between the dates.
