BINGHAMTON – At NYSEG Stadium Monday, Seton Catholic Central pitcher Pat Gosney overpowered the Purple Tornado lineup striking out 14 in six innings of work in the Saints’ shutout win.

Connor McCormick had a double and two RBI to lead the Saints. Connor Ackerman added two hits, two runs scored, and two RBI.

“We had two singles to start the game, and then we struggled the rest of the way,” said Norwich coach John Martinson. “It was a rough day for us at the plate.”

Norwich plays at Oneonta Wednesday.

Sherburne-Earlville 15, Adirondack 3

ADIRONDACK – Sherburne-Earlville compiled a complete game of solid pitching, hitting, and defense in overwhelming Adirondack on Monday.

Mike Wilson struck out 14 and allowed two hits in six shutout innings for the victory. Jake Bohnert was 4-for-5 with two doubles and four runs scored, Mick Khoury had three hits and three RBI, Jesse Yerton doubled three times, and Wilson had two hits to aid his own cause. The Marauders also played error-free defense.

S-E (6-3) hosts Sauquoit Valley on Wednesday.
