Larsen's work featured on NBT Wall of Art

NORWICH – NBT Bank’s Wall of Art is featuring the photography of Mark Larsen at the bank’s Norwich Office on South Broad Street. His work will be on display through the end of May.

Larsen focuses on capturing a simpler time in Chenango County by photographing natural scenes of crumbling, obsolete structures. He works solely with film and traditional black and white, wet darkroom printing rather the relying on digital photo processing. “These tools and techniques are challenging and time-consuming,” he said. “But, I enjoy physically handling the materials, making unique handmade prints and supporting the manufacture of disappearing silver-based film and paper.”

For its Wall of Art, NBT Bank is partnering with the Chenango County Council of the Arts to highlight the creativity of area residents. Council Executive Director Victoria Kappel said, “Larsen is truly amazing in his ability to capture a time almost lost and forgotten in Chenango County. He skillfully captures images that bring back a flood of memories for viewers as they temporarily return to a different time in our history.”
