Congressional hopefulís petition challenged

EARLVILLE Ė Earlville resident Michael Kicinskiís petition to represent New Yorkís 22nd Congressional District in Washington, D.C. was challenged last week, according to the New York State Board of Elections.

Kicinski filed a petition to represent the district in a direct challenge to Republican Congressman Richard Hanna, the incumbent. The two would presumably face off in the Congressional Primary Day on June 26.

However, the state Board of Electionís website lists a general objection to Kicinskiís petition. The objection was filed by Oneida County Republican Chairman George Mitchell on April 20. The Oneida County Republican Committee has endorsed Hanna. Specifications of the objections were due to be postmarked today.
