Eight appear in county court

NORWICH – Five individuals indicted on a variety of felony and misdemeanor charges pleaded not guilty in county court Monday, while two others were sentenced following agreed upon dispositions. One other was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility after violating the conditions of his release.

• David Anderson, 45, of Norwich, pleaded not guilty to all charges and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $2,500 cash bail.

Anderson was indicted in January on charges of first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a class E felony, operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent or higher and driving while intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor.

It’s alleged that Anderson, on or about November 5 on County Road 32 in the Town of Norwich, operated a 1993 Honda motorcycle bearing no registration while his ability to do so was impaired by alcohol.

• Joshua A. Paine, 20, Guilford, pleaded not guilty to all charges and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail. In January, Paine was indicted on two counts of second degree burglary, a class C felony, and one count of third degree burglary, a class D felony.
