Art Forum Hosts Blarney Rebel Band This Weekend

NEW BERLIN – The New Berlin Art Forum will present the “Blarney Rebel Band” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 in the Unadilla Valley Central School Auditorium for a fun-filled evening of Traditional Irish Music.

The Blarney Rebel Band is group of musicians from the Celtic hotbed of Central New York where they perform all types of traditional Irish music including rollicking pub songs, traditional folk fare, rousing sea songs, moving ballads, stirring rebel songs and hand-clapping, foot tapping jigs and reels. Boasting virtuoso musicianship and perfectly blended harmonies The Blarney Rebel Band consists of Mark Sisti - banjo, mandolin, mandola, pennywhistle, concertina, accordion, flute and vocals; Al Sisti - bass guitar and vocals; Dan Sisti – guitar and vocals; Katie Mitchell, fiddle and vocals; Jessica Voce - bodhran, tambourine and percussion.

One of their CDs, “Buy My Soul” has sold all over the world, including Holland, Scotland, Australia and throughout the United Sates and Canada. A cut from that CD, “Stand With Me Boys,” placed Number one in the Irish and Celtic Music Pod Cast, “Best of 2009 Listener’s Poll.”
