Norwich 60, Unadilla Valley 18

NORWICH – Norwich rebounded from three straight defeats to pick up its 10th win of the season Thursday evening in a non-league matchup with Unadilla Valley.

Norwich was awarded eight forfeits from UV, who held out several wrestlers that were in danger of exceeding allowable matches for the regular season.

Trey Muserallo (106) overcame an early deficit to pick up a win pinning Caleb Simonds in 2:42. Later on in the match, Norwich freshman Dan Conant (160), who has missed much of the season, pinned Hunter Meade in 1:40. “It was really good for Dan to have a match before the JV STAC Tournament,” said Norwich coach Joe Downey. “The kid Trey wrestled was a good kid. Trey was actually taken down and almost turned in the first period, but he was able to reverse the kid in the second period, bar him up, and get the pin. It was a nice confidence builder for him.”
