Rabid skunks found in city

NORWICH – Rabies activity has been reported in the Norwich area. Since Dec. 12, upwards of six potentially rabid skunks have been identified and removed from the east side of the city.

To protect yourself, your family, and your pets the Chenango County Environmental Health Departments advises the following precautions:

• Vaccinate your pets for rabies! Pet dogs & cats should be up-to-date on rabies vaccinations & dogs should be wearing current license tags on their collar. For information on rabies vaccination for your pets, call your local veterinarian or Chenango County Environmental Health at 337-1673.
