Hospice Raffles Heirloom Wooden Train
Published: November 1st, 2011

NORWICH – Hospice Homemade is an auxiliary group of women who raise money for Hospice of Chenango County by selling crafts that they and community members make throughout the year. Now Hospice Homemade has taken on another fundraising project just in time for the holidays. They are selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a handmade heirloom wooden train made by Oxford resident and master woodworker John Knapp.

Knapp is one of the artists in the Made in Chenango Cooperative. The train, that any child would love to call his/her own, is six cars long and was carved from trees on Knapp’s 268 acre property which include Cherry, Maple, Ash, Birch and Walnut. Even the logs on the train’s hauling car are made from Hop Horn Beam.
