SHERBURNE – Against defending Class B state champion Skaneateles Wednesday, Sherburne-Earlville (8-7-2) was eliminated from Section III postseason play.

Tyler Strods and Alex Brownlee had two goals apiece for Skaneateles, who led 4-0 at the halftime break. “They play all of their non-league games against double AA schools, and they lost all of those games,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez in explaining why his team had the home-field advantage. “They did well in their league this year, and they were certainly tested against some really good teams.”
