GREENE – Greene’s Paige Wilcox had three goals to lift her season total to 12, and the Trojans exploded for three goals in a 90-second stretch to pull away from Delhi Wednesday.

Wilcox sliced through the Delhi defense to score the game’s first goal at 21:45 of the first half. Just 32 seconds, Melanie McBride backed up Wilcox’s tally, and Wilcox added the third goal just a minute later.

The win lifted Greene’s record back to .500 at 3-3 overall. Hope Beardsley also scored for Greene. “We had some losses early in the season to tough opponents,” said Greene coach Brandy Stone. “It’s nice to have games like these to build our kids’ confidence.

SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville remained unbeaten in Center State Conference play (4-0-1) jumping out to a 2-0 halftime lead over Waterville Wednesday.

Playing on Waterville’s turf field, the Marauders struggled with their passing early on before scoring at the 22-minute mark. “The touches were a little off. It’s a lot faster surface, and the girls had to adjust,” said S-E coach Kylie Davis of the turf.
