OXFORD – Oxford junior Jacquelyn Heggie struck out a career-high 17 batters leading Oxford past Unadilla Valley Tuesday.

Julianne Heggie finished 3-for-3 scoring two runs, and sister Jacquelyn drove in a pair of runs. Megan Golden added an RBI single.

“Jacquelyn was moving the ball around today and really hitting her spots,” said Oxford coach Heather Pizza summing up her starting pitcher’s performance.

UV scored its two runs in the fourth. After two runners reached on errors, Carly Beadle followed with a two-run RBI double.

The Blackhawks (7-3) host Greene today.

GREENE – Coming off its first loss of the season last weekend, Greene swept a pair of games from Delhi and Hancock Tuesday by a combined 33-1 score.

In the opener, the Trojans scored 10 runs in the second inning to open up a big advantage. Caitlin Willis was a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI. Taylor Ellis had two hits including a solo homer, and Rebecca Hanrahan finished with three hits. Hanrahan and Morgan Hurlburt combined on a five-inning no-hitter striking out nine total players and walking four. It was the Trojans’ third no-hitter of the season.
