GREENE – In its Midstate Athletic Conference opening meet, Greene easily swept its triangular matchup with Oxford and Unadilla Valley Wednesday afternoon.

The Trojans’ boys won every event in the abbreviated opener that did not include any of the jumps, discus or hurdles. NCAA Division One signee, Chad Noelle, breezed to first-place finishes with times well off his personal-bests. Brock Kinney (100 meters), Kyle Gorton (200 meters), Alex Trass (400 meters), and Isaiah Webb (shot put) also garnered firsts.

On the girls’ side, Oxford made a small dent in Greene’s margin of victory winning five events. Emily Woodford was a double winner taking the 200- and 400-meter races; Katie Woodford easily took the 100-meter dash, Haley Witchella nabbed the shot put, and the Blackhawks’ 400-meter relay added the other win.

Jessica Brooks (800 meters), Adrienne Smith (3,000 meters), and Emily Conroe (1,500 meters) were individual victors for Greene, who also claimed wins in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter relay races.

Girls’ team scoring: Greene 58, Oxford 31, Unadilla Valley 3
