NORWICH – Commerce Chenango has announced the recipients of the 2011 awards to be presented at the 52nd Annual Dinner on Wednesday at the Silo Restaurant in Greene. Sidney Federal Credit Union will receive the Distinguished Business of the Year Award, and Dave Burrell will be the recipient of the Commitment to Community award.

The Distinguished Business of the Year Award will be presented to Sidney Federal Credit Union. This award recognizes a business organization that has shown consistent growth over a period of time; is considered a leader in their industry; makes continuous improvements to quality and innovation; and has made significant contributions to our community and its economy. Notably, the 2011 Distinguished Business of the Year has provided 62 years of innovation, leadership and reliability.

Sidney Federal Credit Union was originally chartered in January 1949, initially serving employees of Scintilla Magneto Company. They currently have over 46 thousand members and offer financial services from eight locations to those who live or work in Otsego, Chenango or Delaware Counties and the Town of Colesville.
