Windsor downs Greene in season opener

GREENE – Windsor padded its lead with three runs in the fourth to build a 7-0 advantage in Tuesday’s season-opening win at Greene.



Nick Benson had three hits for Windsor and Kyle Zaberton drove in three runs for the Black Knights.

Nick Viglucci and Alex Leone had two hits and one RBI apiece for Greene, who finishing with six hits in the game. The Trojans made one error on the first play of the game, and went error-free the rest of the way. “We certainly had our chances at the end,” said Greene coach Steve Burghardt, who said his club left the bases loaded in the seventh, and eight men were left on base over the last four innings. “We’re starting over with just three seniors, but we have some talent, it will take time to mesh.”
