Sherburne’s St. Paddy’s Day parade celebrates 10th anniversary

SHERBURNE – Representatives from about 50 organizations will march in Sherburne’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, including three bagpipe groups, three Irish dance groups and a special float commemorating the parade’s 10th anniversary.

The float will carry 2011 Grand Marshall Lloyd Baker and the parade’s past nine Grand Marshals.

A last-minute fundraiser will be held from 4 to 8 tonight at Gilligan’s Island, North Main Street, Sherburne. All proceeds will be used to offset cost of the parade.

The action is set to begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at the corner of West State Street and North Main Street in the village. Marchers and floats will proceed north to the former cotton mill parking lot. Groups are welcome to join in the festivities by calling Theresa Mastro at 674-4573.
