NORWICH – A Greene man pleaded guilty to his tenth driving while intoxicated charge in Chenango County Court Monday.

Judge W. Howard Sullivan sentenced 54-year-old Richard Davy to one and a third to four years in prison, and ordered him to pay $2,520 in fines and surcharges.

Davy accepted the plea arrangement with prosecutors in what District Attorney Joseph McBride confirmed was the defendant’s tenth DWI conviction.

“Unfortunately for Mr. Davy and the community, this is his tenth DWI arrest and conviction in his lifetime,” McBride told the court at sentencing. The DA also added, “I believe this case is among the most DWI convictions we’ve ever had for a defendant.”
