OXFORD – 6 On The Square (6OTS) will jump-start your January off right! Wednesday was the 6OTS opening reception for the O’Keefe and Mason Retrospective art exhibit. Tonight it’s the monthly 6OTS Open Mic at 7:30. Saturday will be 6OTS’ first musical show of the season with the Ramblin Jug Stompers at 7:30 p.m.

For Bob “Doc” O’Keefe his passion for photography began in his youth with a simple Brownie box-camera. As he grew older, his cameras improved as did his skills, and he developed a keen eye for photo composition. As a well seasoned traveler, Bob recorded his visual experiences through the camera’s eye capturing different countries and cultures. It is many of these photos that he will have on exhibit, as they come from his personal favorites collection.

June Mason, wife of Bob’s long time business partner in Mason O’Keefe Veterinary Associates, began painting as a way to relax and nurture her creativity. She has been inspired by her trips abroad with her mother, Florence Freud, who is also a talented amateur artist, painting scenes from photographs taken on those tours. June also loves flowers, and can be seen painting the many flowers in her garden.
