Agro Farma, Norwich Jewish Center team up for food drive

NORWICH – Following its successful Giving to Goodwill Food Challenge – which challenged Gibson and Perry Browne Elementary students to collect non-perishable food items as they compete for a classroom pizza and yogurt party – Agro Farma, partnered with the Norwich Jewish Center, will hold a food drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Norwich Jewish Center.

The students have been collecting non-perishable food items, each worth one point toward the competition, since the Food Challenge kicked off on Oct. 20, and students will have an opportunity to put their classroom on top during the main event, Saturday’s food drive.

Each food item donated by a student to the food drive will now be worth two points.

“We’re proud to be a part of this event,” said Agro Farma CEO Hamdi Ulukaya. “It is important to get the kids involved in making healthy choices, but even more important to get them involved in giving back. This food drive accomplishes both.”
