Arts Council plans “International Bazaar” fundraiser

NORWICH – The Chenango County Council of the Arts has announced its 2010 gala event – “International Bazaar.” Continuing the Council’s tradition of fun “themed” events with lots of surprises, event chair Denise Daoud and her enthusiastic committee are designing an evening sure to bring out the adventurous international traveler in everyone.

Scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Canasawacta Country Club, the event will begin at 7 p.m. Guests will be treated to champagne under the Eiffel Tower, before proceeding into the colorful bazaar atmosphere. Marv Mackoff will provide cocktail hour music while guests mingle, and browse the treasures available at the silent auctions tables. Dinner will be served from a series of internationally themed tables, providing guests an opportunity to sample dishes from around the world – finishing up with All-American desserts. Dancing to the music of Brotherhood will round out what is sure to be a fun evening for all. Dress up, dress down, dress in costume.

Proceeds from the evening will support the Chenango County Council of the Arts’ cultural programming, which includes a performance series, a chamber music series, gallery exhibits, funding opportunities for teachers, artists and organizations, scholarships for high school students, classes and workshops, and a community cultural calendar.

Tickets for “International Bazaar” are $55 per person. For more information or to reserve your ticket, contact the Chenango County Council of the Arts at 336-2787 or info@chenangoarts.org.
