Norwich Career Firefighters Association goes pink for breast cancer

NORWICH – The Norwich Career Fire Fighters Association Local 1404 is doing its part in the fight against breast cancer this year, opting to sport pink “Keep A Breast” T-shirts throughout the month of October.

The local firefighters association will also be taking orders for anyone interested in purchasing one of the $20 shirts, with all proceeds benefiting the Keep A Breast Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the elimination of breast cancer through the education of today’s youth.

The Care Enough to Wear Pink resolution, recently issued by the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), charged numerous fire fighter associations across the country to help in the fight against breast cancer.

While the resolution only asked participating departments to wear their respective pink T- shirts for six days in early October – recognized by the American Cancer Society as Breast Cancer Awareness Month – the local chapter of the IAFF decided to don them for its entirety.
