UV drops first league game of season

NEW BERLIN – Walton dealt Unadilla Valley its first Midstate Athletic Conference loss on Wednesday scoring the last two goals in a comeback victory.

After Molly McGuire tied the game for the Warriors, Hunter Browne scored the game-winning tally with just 4:48 remaining.

Unadilla Valley led 1-0 on Taylor Davis’ goal, and re-took the lead early in the second half after Emily Hutchinson’s goal.

The Storm (5-1, 7-3) play at Greene on Friday.

Greene 7, Bainbridge-Guilford 0

GREENE ≠– Greene rebounded from its first loss of the season with a convincing home victory over Bainbridge-Guilford Wednesday.

Six different Greene players scored goals in the win. Evan Moxley, Mikki Brown, and Alex Driscoll all had at least one goal and one assist. Alex Leone, Cody Shapley, and Brian Hebbard also found the B-G net.

“Our goal was to produce more quality shots with possession, and it definitely worked tonight,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman. “Tonight, we played well and got a little bit of our chemistry back.”

Greene hosts Maine-Endwell tonight in the first round of its tournament
