Time to play, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol has gotten into full Sports mode with football and everything else getting started for the new year. Your quarterback, the Toddster, has been setting up the playbook for this week and we’ve managed to book some plays that all our patrollers will enjoy. Saw a few people at Colorscape this past week and got to see some of my Patrol crew that help me out. Time to get going!
New on DVD
The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - The fight for justice is never an easy one. Even in the sixth century. We join our hero Dastan (Jake Gyllenhall) who discovers an ancient device known only as the Sands of Time is being sought by an evil nobleman who wants to control time for himself. Along the way, Dastan meets a feisty but capable woman named Tamina (Gemma Atherton). The two of them don’t always see eye to eye but they have to set aside their differences to get the job done. Will they be able to do it and do they something more between them? Sources tell me that Atherton is being sought for a role in a prequel for a new “Aliens” movie. More on this as it develops.
Letters to Juliet - There are some people who find it their mission in life to bring people together. A group of people have come to one of the most popular places in Verona, Italy. Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) comes to a wall of lost loves there and finds a letter written by Claire (Vanessa Redgrave). The thing is the letter was written in 1957 so it might be a little tricky finding the right guy Claire wants to get together because there are several men named Lorenzo in Italy. Can the two of them find the right one? Another movie starring Seyfried just out is called “Chloe.” Seyfried stars as Chloe who is asked to tempt a man. Catherine (Julianne Moore) wants to see how faithful her husband (Liam Neeson) is. Does Catherine know what dangers she may have set in motion by hiring Chloe? Pick it up on DVD now.
